FAQ

1. What is Accelerated Free Fall?
AFF is the quickest method of becoming a qualified skydiver and is also the easiest way to learn, obviously throughout your course you will be guided by an expert instructor. All jumps are made from at least 12,000ft and AFF usually turns out to be much cheaper in the long run and much more fun than the conventional static line method.

2. What are the benefits of AFF over other training methods?
You manage to spend a good deal of time in freefall during your course, and the instructor has the ability to teach you whist you are in free fall using hand signals, and the instructor is very qualified, because a AFF instructor qualification is known to be the hardest in the sport.

3. How will I know how I am doing on the course?
You will have debriefs after every jump and go through a video of the skydive, these videos are used to show you how well you are doing and are also combined for you to have and take with you as a record of the whole trip. (Without extra cost to you)

4. How does free fall feel?
Free Fall is not the stomach churning feeling of a fun fair ride; because falling through the air gives you no reference point at the height we well be at.

5. What if I do not open the parachute?
The opening of the parachute is very simple, where you take a toggle attached to a pilot chute which is like a mini parachute and throw it into the airflow; the parachute then opens in sequence. If you lost altitude awareness we would tell you to open your parachute using hand signals and if you did not respond we would open it for you. You should also remember that your parachutes are fitted with a computerised automatic activation device, which would open the parachute for you if all else failed.

6. Is packing the parachute difficult?
I will teach you how to pack over the course, it is a fairly simple procedure and easy to learn.

7. Why are your courses abroad?
From experience it is great to Skydive in the UK but frequently the weather is not consistently good enough to allow for jumping almost every day, the course is easier to pass for most if the jumps are consistent.

8. What happens when I complete the course?
Once you have completed the 8 AFF levels you must make a further 10 solo jumps called consolidation jumps.   You will be working toward getting the FAI (Federation Aeronautique International) A Licence. This is like getting your driving licence where you would be free to arrive at any club and conduct yourself safely in a solo free fall.
Please feel free contact me with any further questions you may have.
