AFF COURSE

We like to do 1 week to 10 day trips abroad every month to sunny locations to complete the AFF course, due to the British weather not being reliable enough.  Intensive training is the best way to complete the course, this allows for rapid progression through the course.  For this reason AFF courses are usually run in Spain or USA and we only ever put 1 instructor with a maximum of 3 students. All the equipment required is included, jumpsuit, altimeters, helmets, goggles and of course the parachutes.  You will have a digital video of your course given to you at the end, including a log book. You will have packing instruction throughout your training as well. The AFF (accelerated freefall) qualification will allow you to be a solo skydiver in as little as 8 jumps, the latest teaching techniques with state of the art equipment to ensure rapid progression and maximum safety standards.

The AFF course has 8 levels, each level has an objective which must be achieved, should the objective not be achieved then that level must be repeated. The majority of students qualify without a repeat but the possibility is there.  The cost of repeat jumps has been reduced to the minimum but if required would be in addition to the course fee.

As you can see the jumpsuit, helmet and goggles, are the kind we will use and you can see the parachute container on the last picture. This houses the parachutes and it is worn like a rucksack. It contains both the reserve parachute on the top and the main parachute on the bottom. There is also a piece of equipment called an AAD (automatic activation device) this is hidden under the reserve parachute and is there in case we knock ourselves out, it will automatically deploy the reserve parachute for us at 1000 feet.  We wear helmets in case we knock our heads and goggles because our eyes would water at the speed we fall.
